India left-arm spinner Manav Suthar has joined Warwickshire on a short-term contract. He will be available for the next two rounds of the County Championship. Suthar has 129 wickets in 29 first-class games, and this will be his first stint in the English domestic circuit.
"I'm incredibly excited to be joining Warwickshire for the next two County Championship games," Suthar said in a statement. "The team have started the season very well. so I'm hoping that I can play a part in helping them in their push for the title."
Suthar was the Player of the Match on Test debut against Afghanistan last week. He picked up 6 for 33 in the first innings. took one more wicket in the second as India registered their biggest Test win.
"We're delighted to welcome Manav to the Bears. at a really exciting time for the team," James Thomas, Warwickshire performance director, said in a statement. "We've played some good red-ball cricket already this season, and Manav will bring a new aspect to our bowling attack. It shows how highly he's rated in India after his selection to their Test team last week. so it's going to be great to have him around the group.
Warwickshire are second on the points table. play Yorkshire in Scarborough from June 12 and then take on Somerset in Taunton from June 19.
Jayant Yadav, Krunal Pandya. Mohammed Siraj were some of the other Indian players to have played for Warwickshire in the past.
