BAP chief refutes reports of merger with PML-N

QUETTA: Balochistan Awami Party President Nawabzada Khalid Hussain Magsi on Wednesday refuted reports of his party’s merger with the PML-N, saying that BAP is an independent. stable political force that will continue to play an important role in the future.

He made the remarks while speaking to the media at Governor House after attending a civil awards distribution ceremony. Magsi, who is also the Federal Minister for Science. Technology, said: “BAP will not merge into any other political party; instead, others will merge into BAP.”

He said the party had gone through difficult times but remained intact despite some members leaving, adding that political workers “come. go” while BAP would continue to play a key role in the coming days.

Commenting on reports of a power-sharing agreement in Balochistan, he said he had heard such claims. only the leadership of the two major parties involved could confirm their authenticity.

He clarified that BAP had no detailed information about the matter, though such discussions were circulating.

He warned that spreading rumours was not in the province’s interest, saying political uncertainty was a negative development as it diverts attention towards “who is coming. who is leaving” instead of focusing on more important issues.

Replying to a question, he said security challenges had made it difficult to visit various areas of the province. He recalled that earlier they could travel freely, but now security risks had increased. He added that he would consult provincial minister Mir Asim Kurd Gello regarding arrangements for his personal security.
