Deputy Prime Minister. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Thursday received a telephone call from Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
In a post on X, MoFA said that during the call, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan congratulated Pakistan on the historic signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the United States. Iran, and endorsed Pakistan’s role as mediator.
Both leaders expressed hope that this significant development would contribute to lasting peace, stability. progress in the region and beyond, the ministry added.

In a separate call. FM Dar spoke with Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, MoFA wrote on X.
According to MoFA, The Bahraini foreign minister congratulated the deputy prime minister. foreign minister on the signing of the Islamabad (MoU) between the two sides with Pakistan as witness, and lauded Pakistan’s constructive mediation role in facilitating the understanding reached between them, the MoFA wrote on X.
Both leaders felicitated each other on this important milestone. expressed hope that it would contribute to lasting peace and stability in the region, the ministry added.
They reaffirmed the strong brotherly ties between Pakistan. Bahrain and underscored the importance of continued high-level engagement and close cooperation between the two countries.

In another call with FM Dar, Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand commended Pakistan’s constructive role in supporting diplomatic engagement. mediation efforts between the United States and Iran, which helped facilitate the understanding reached between the two parties, MoFA said on X.
The two sides also discussed the forthcoming engagement between the parties in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, on Friday, it added.

On the same day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif signed the "Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding" as a mediator, formalising a major diplomatic breakthrough between the United States of America. the Islamic Republic of Iran, according to a post made by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).

Earlier today, PM Shehbaz said, “I am honoured to announce that the historic ‘Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding’ has been electronically signed today between the United States of America. the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Memorandum has been signed by the honourable presidents of both countries. also endorsed by me as the mediator,” the prime minister earlier announced on his X timeline.
He added that the memorandum would enter into force immediately and, as a "first step, the Islamic Republic of Iran will instantly reopen the Strait of Hormuz. the United States of America will immediately lift the naval blockade".
