Naqvi receives guidance from PM Shehbaz on upcoming Iran visit as Pakistan's diplomacy for peace continues

Expected to discuss new proposals aimed at breaking deadlock in negotiations between Tehran and Washington

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi arrived in Tehran on Saturday for talks with senior Iranian officials amid Islamabad's ongoing mediation efforts between Iran. the United States.

Iran's Press TV reported that he was received by his counterpart Eskandar Momeni.

According toTasnim, Naqvi is expected to meet several Iranian officials, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif earlier gave guidance to the interior minister for the trip.

The interior minister met the premier in Lahore to discuss his trip and other matters.

"Consultations also took place between the prime minister and the interior minister regarding the interior minister's upcoming visit to Tehran. The prime minister provided guidance related to the visit," said a statement from the Prime Minister's Office.

The interior minister also briefed the prime minister on his important engagements held on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation conference in Bishkek. the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

They further reviewed in detail the prevailing security environment in the country. measures being taken to maintain peace and stability, along with the overall law and order situation.

Naqvi briefed the prime minister on the steps being implemented to ensure law. order and safeguard citizens across the country.

PM Shehbaz stressed the importance of close coordination among all relevant institutions. called for a unified strategy to further strengthen law and order and enhance national security.

The prime minister reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining peace, protecting citizens. ensuring effective cooperation among all security and law enforcement agencies.

Pakistani sources earlier toldAnadoluthat Naqvi was set to meet top Iranian officials to discuss "some new proposals" to reach a temporary deal between Tehran. Washington to break the ongoing deadlock.He would also discuss reviving a second round of talks between the parties to end the conflict, they added.
