ISPR says two sides discuss matters of mutual interest, regional security and defence cooperation

Bahrain National Guard Commander General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Isa on Tuesday appreciated the Pakistan Army's role in promoting regional peace. stability during a meeting with Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Bahrain national guard chief called on CDF Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, the regional security environment,. avenues for enhanced bilateral defence and security cooperation.

"Both dignitaries expressed satisfaction over the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan. Bahrain and underscored the importance of further strengthening military-to-military collaboration," the ISPR said.

The Bahrain national guard chief also separately called on Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf. Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu.

"At Naval Headquarters, the meeting focused on bilateral defence collaboration and regional security dynamics. The Bahrain national guard chief commended the Pakistan Navy's constructive role in advancing cooperative maritime security across the region. expressing appreciation for its role as a regional maritime security stabiliser," the ISPR said.

The statement added that during the meeting at Air Headquarters, the air chief highlighted the Pakistan Air Force's modernisation efforts, including capability enhancement, infrastructure development, indigenisation,. advanced training reforms.

"Discussions focused on emerging defence technologies such as drones, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, advanced sensors,. digital innovation, as well as evolving air defence challenges and integrated defence architectures," it added.

According to the ISPR, the Bahraini commander appreciated the professionalism and operational readiness of Pakistan's armed forces.

"He also praised the modernisation initiatives. indigenous capabilities of the Pakistan armed forces, expressing interest in further cooperation in training, emerging technologies, and capacity-building initiatives," the statement said.

The ISPR said the visit reflected the strong. enduring defence partnership between Pakistan and Bahrain and was expected to further advance bilateral military cooperation for the mutual benefit of both brotherly nations.

Earlier in the morning, Lebanese Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief, General Rodolphe Haykal called on CDF Munir at GHQ, where both discussed regional security, defence cooperation,. prospects for strengthening bilateral military ties.

According to the ISPR,the visiting dignitary was presentedwith a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out Tri Services contingent upon his arrival at GHQ.

"During the meeting, both dignitaries exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, evolving regional security environment, defence cooperation. prospects for enhancing bilateral military relations," the statement added.

ISPR said that the discussions focused on strengthening professional interactions, training cooperation. institutional linkages between the armed forces of the two countries.
