TNFJ announces 14-point Muharram code of Azadari

RAWALPINDI: Tehreek Nifaz-i-Fiqh-i-Jafariya (TNFJ) Pakistan on Monday gave a 14-point code of azadari for Muharramul Haram at a press conference held at the headquarters of Maktab-i-Tashayyu.

The code aims to ensure peace during Muharram, thwart conspiracies by enemies of religion. the homeland, promote inter-sect harmony, and uphold the dignity, honour and prestige of the country.

TNFJ Pakistan Chief Allama Agha Syed Hussain Muqaddasi said that no restriction. ban or obstacle in the path of mourning would be tolerated. He rejected what he termed unconstitutional anti-mourning restrictions included in the rules. regulations of the Punjab Home Department, emphasising that a believer is bound only by the commands of Almighty Allah and that no unjustified, unconstitutional or unlawful restriction could be accepted under any circumstances.

He said they would safeguard mourning at every moment. protect the sanctity and honour of the symbols of mourning more dearly than their own lives.

He added that their doors remained open for cooperation with the government, administration. all institutions to counter enemies of the homeland, as well as all forms of mischief and unrest.

Responding to a question, Allama Muqaddasi said that the Iran-United States agreement was a positive development for humanity. He stated that the defeat of colonial. arrogant powers, and the victory of the followers of Ali, were being acknowledged throughout the world.

He said Pakistan had rendered unforgettable services in facilitating reconciliation. provided a way for the imperial power to emerge from war. Such a historic role deserved appreciation, he added.

He said the United States should reciprocate by playing a constructive role in resolving the nuclear flashpoint of Kashmir. also assist Pakistan in overcoming its economic difficulties.

He remarked that while financial resources were being directed towards the Middle East, some support should also be extended to Pakistan so that it could effectively confront terrorism. the menace of Khawarij.

In response to another question, Allama Muqaddasi said that normalcy should be restored in Azad Kashmir through dialogue and understanding. He urged both sides to demonstrate flexibility in their attitudes and transform differences into peace and mutual affection.

Explaining the points of the code of mourning, he said mourning processions across the country would be conducted in accordance with the Moosavi-Junejo Agreement of May 21, 1985,. that no interference in these processions would be tolerated.

He demanded that the government ensure the respectful conduct of mourning processions in accordance with the formula agreed between the state. the community under the Moosavi-Junejo Agreement.

He further stated that, in order to resolve issues faced by mourners. organisers and ensure law and order, the government should establish Muharram control rooms under the Federal Ministry of Interior and at the district level in all five provinces, including Azad Kashmir, and link them with the central and regional control rooms of the Muharram Committee and Azadari Cell of Tehreek-i-Nifaz-i-Fiqh-i-Jafariya.

He also demanded the immediate withdrawal of the Standard Operating Procedures imposed by the Punjab Home Department regarding mourning activities.

The TNFJ chief stated that the government should ensure implementation of all provisions of the National Action Plan without discrimination or exception in order to eliminate terrorism. maintain peace and order.

At the same time, he said, the names of peaceful. innocent persons currently listed on the Fourth Schedule should be removed.

Allama Muqaddasi emphasised that organisers of gatherings. processions should cooperate with security institutions and also ensure their own protective arrangements.

He demanded that security arrangements at sensitive locations be ensured in advance. that such locations be placed under the responsibility of the armed forces.
