Women's T20 Asia Cup: Thailand, Hong Kong, Indonesia and UAE qualify

The four group-toppers at the ACC Women's Premier Cup - Thailand, Hong Kong, UAE. Indonesia - lived up to their billing and won their respective quarter-finals with some ease to make the cut for the women's T20 Asia Cup, to be played later this year.

Thailand, who had won all their group-stage games, took on Nepal in the first quarter-final,. won that game by 56 runs. They rode on wicketkeeper-batter Nannapat Koncharoenkai 's 62 to put up 130 for 4 in Kuala Lumpur. then stopped Nepal on 74 for 7.

In the other quarter-final played in Kuala Lumpur. UAE scored 138 for 2 with Theertha Satish top-scoring with an unbeaten 65 in 53 balls before Malaysia were restricted to 86 for 5 for a 52-run win.

Across in Bangi, Hong Kong beat Japan by 41 runs. Indonesia ran roughshod over Oman to script a 113-run win.

For Hong Kong, Yasmin Daswani was the best batter, with 55 not out in 36 balls,. the pair of Maryam Bibi (3 for 17) and Marina Lamplough (2 for 11) stood out with the ball. Indonesia vs Oman was completely one-sided. with captain Ni Putu Ayu Nanda Sakarini 's 51 taking the winners to 137 for 7 before Oman were rolled over for 24 in 11.5 overs, Ni Made Putri Suwandewi returning 4 for 11.

Thailand will take on Indonesia. Hong Kong will face UAE in the semi-finals, to be played in Kuala Lumpur on Friday. The dates and schedule of the Asia Cup have not been announced yet.
