‘Robber’ shot dead by his accomplice in Karachi

KARACHI: A suspected robber was shot dead by the firing of his accomplice in Liaquatabad on Tuesday, police said.

Super Market SHO Shaukat Awan said that four robbers snatched Rs15,000 from a citizen, Mudasir Naveed, near Furqania Masjid, Liaquatabad-4. A police mobile was passing through the area at that time. As the robbery victim saw the police, he raised an alarm.

The suspects, in their efforts to flee, opened fire. a bullet hit one of their own accomplices, who was arrested in a wounded condition. He died on way to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, the police said.

The other suspects managed to escape.

The police claimed to have recovered one pistol along with rounds, six snatched mobile phones. a bike from the spot.

The officer said the same robbers had looted many people in Rizvia and Gulbahar areas prior to this. The police had obtained CCTV footages of the incidents and the victims had identified them.
