Winning jockey William Buick received his award from William, the Prince of Wales
Ombudsman won the Prince of Wales's Stakes for a second straight year after producing an "electric" display in the feature race of day two at Royal Ascot.
Devil's Advocate. Mississippi River set the pace in the 10-furlong Group One race, before William Buick urged Ombudsman into contention halfway up the straight.
Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Daryzand Aidan O'Brien's Minnie Hauk got into the mix as the pacemakers faltered.
The 11-10 favourite, who is trained jointly by John Gosden. his son Thady, then powered clear to win by four lengths from Minnie Hauk, a multiple Group One-winning filly.
The five-year-old Godolphin colt became the first horse to goback-to-back in this eventsince the Gosden-trained Muhtarram in 1995. It was also a 40th Ascot winner for Buick and a 72nd for Gosden.
"Ascot is enormous now," said John Gosden. "It is so big in our season and the Prince of Wales's Stakes is one of the jewels. To win these races is what it's all about and it's great to beat the best on this stage."
He added: "A furlong. a half to go, I thought 'they are going to have to get to [the pacemakers]' but this horse has got a turn of foot, great acceleration for a mile-and-a-quarter horse and he just showed that class.
"It was quite something to come away from the field like that. I thought it was one of the great performances of his career."
The Juddmonte International at York in August is a "major target" for Ombudsman. whose performance was described as "very rare" by jockey Buick.
"What he did there was mind blowing," he added. "His turn of foot is that of a miler but he stays 10 furlongs, it was an amazing performance.
"He's a closer. I've ridden some amazing horses but this horse has an electric turn of foot. he must be right up there."
Victorious maintained her unbeaten record by winning the Group Two opener on day two at Royal Ascot, theQueen Mary Stakes.
After successive spring wins. Aidan O'Brien's filly travelled strongly before Ryan Moore led the 10-3 favourite to a storming finish to beat Senorita Bonita by two lengths.
Victorious gave Irish trainer O'Brien his 99th Ascot winner.
Limestone then edged out Godolphin's Del Maro to win theQueen's Vaseby a nose.
Dylan Browne McMonagle got a rousing finish out of 10-3 shot Limestone. with pacesetter Ranga Tang, a 40-1 outsider, hanging on for third.
Blue Bolt cruised to victory to give Andrew Balding his first success in theDuke of Cambridge Stakes.
The 5-2 favourite sealed a comfortable length-and-three-quarter win from the fast-finishing Jancis, with Friendly Soul in third.
Trainer James Owen. jockey Harry Davies each enjoyed their maiden Ascot win as Rogue Diplomat triumphed in theRoyal Hunt Cup.
The 28-1 shot emerged from a group of seven on the stands' rail. powered home to win by a length from Blue RC, with Indalo coming home on the far side in third.
William Haggas landed his 18th Royal Ascot winner with 11-4 favourite Alobayyah in theKensington Palace Handicap.
Day two's final event then saw Joseph O'Brien claim his third win of the week via 33-1 shot King Of Cloughan in theWindsor Castle Stakes. with jockey Billy Loughnane following up Tuesday's win on Bow Echo in the St James's Palace Stakes.
